To maximize success on our Kansas deer hunts, we allocate approximately 640 acres for every hunter we host. We maintain strict minimums to preserve the quality of our hunts and the health of the local deer population:
Bow (Archery) and Crossbow Hunters: A minimum score of 145 is required for any harvested whitetail deer.
Rifle and Muzzleloader Hunters: A strict minimum of 145 is required for all harvested whitetail deer.
Harvest Minimums and Fines: We are deeply committed to maintaining a healthy and sustainable whitetail deer population. To support this, we enforce strict harvest minimums: a 145-class minimum for all hunters (archery, crossbow, rifle, and muzzleloader). If a hunter harvests a deer below the 145-class minimum, a $1,500 fine will be applied. This policy is in place to protect younger bucks, giving them the opportunity to mature and contribute to the overall health and quality of the herd. By adhering to these guidelines, we ensure future generations of hunters can enjoy the exceptional whitetail deer hunting that Kansas is known for.
We encourage all hunters to familiarize themselves with field scoring techniques and will gladly offer guidance during your stay. If you have any questions about this policy, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help.
Kansas law recently expanded the use of crossbows to all deer hunters, allowing greater flexibility for those choosing this method. However, our commitment to quality remains the same across all hunting styles to ensure every hunter has a chance at a true Kansas trophy buck.
