Join Dirt Road Outfitters for your next Kansas deer-hunting trip. We offer bow hunting, crossbow hunting, and more!
Dirt Road Outfitters' Kansas deer hunts occur on thousands of acres of privately managed land. We believe firmly in a quality of wildlife to hunt over a quantity of hunters. A 140 inch minimum is in place on any deer hunt with a $1,500 fine in place if something is harvested under the minimum. There is simply too much work & attention to detail put into our family operation to allow hunters to shoot little bucks while hunting with us.
Our Kansas deer-hunting units are some of the best because we also plant numerous food plots catered to Kansas deer every year. The food plots benefit not only whitetail deer, but all other various types of wildlife seen throughout South Central Kansas. Our properties are loaded with alfalfa, winter wheat, corn, soybeans, milo, & other varieties of crops that whitetail deer in Kansas love to browse. These food plots planted, along with the varying terrain that our family farm ground offers, creates a unique one of kind deer hunting setup that is ideal for an avid bow hunter, muzzleloader hunter, or rifle hunter.
Dirt Road Outfitters in Kansas places a strong emphasis on scouting. With the help of trail cameras and consistent year round scouting, we try to create the perfect Kansas deer hunt for you. Trail camera photos, scrapes, rubs, sheds, and trails help us determine the prime spots to place you during your Kansas whitetail hunt. Dirt Road Outfitters wants to provide the deer hunter the best chance of harvesting a mature Kansas whitetail deer by strategically placing the deer hunter on a good Kansas hunting property with a stand that is suited best for the current wind direction of the day. Many of our stands are placed in a pinch point or a funnel to help increase the chances that the deer hunter harvests a mature Kansas whitetail deer. For our Kansas deer hunts, Dirt Road Outfitters tries to do everything to give the Kansas deer hunter an upper hand on the wily Kansas whitetail deer. Hunting pinch points or funnels that Kansas whitetail deer frequent does help the deer hunter, but we also place corn out, and feed the Kanas deer a 28% protein mixture year around. If you prefer a true hunt, without any bait, please let us know when you book your Kansas deer-hunting trip. Dirt Road Outfitters leaves a few thousand acres out every year that we do not place any bait out for the deer hunter that likes a natural setting on their whitetail deer hunt. Lodging:
All hunters are lodged privately for their deer hunt on our working farm, and cattle ranch. It is a 1900s farm house that has been in the family for many generations. This is the ideal place to brag about your deer hunt with the guests. All hunters are treated to one home cooked meal in the evening. It is a quiet, clean, & comfortable place to rest.
About Our Kansas Deer-Hunting Units:
The hunter will arrive in camp the day prior to their hunt & will leave the evening after your 5 day hunt ends. We will discuss the aspects of the type of deer we want you to harvest upon your stay with us. Aerial photos will be reviewed during this orientation along with deer sightings on the hoof, trail camera photos, & how to harvest the whitetail deer with the current stand placements. A guide will be assigned on your hunt to be sure that we get the hunter to & from the stand safely & quietly. This guide will also field dress the deer for you & transport it back to our lodge. When the deer is back at the lodge it is your job to tell us how you would like to display your trophy whitetail so we can properly prepare your mount.
Our packages include 6 nights of lodging, 5 days of deer hunting, 2 meals a day, & snacks. If you need your gun sighted in we will be happy to do that. The hunter is responsible for the transportation fee of us taking the game to our meat locker, and arranging for them to send it to your meat locker of choice.
A liability waiver must be signed when you arrive to harvest these beautiful Kansas whitetail bucks.
Ladder stands are used for bow hunting. Tower blinds are primarily used, however we do have original tree stands to use for rifle, & muzzleloader season. Most of the stands we use a Muddy & Millenium ladderstands, & Muddy Bull or Penthouse tower blinds. No lock on stands will be used.
A safety harness must be worn at all times while hunting in our tree stands while on your Kansas deer hunt. Most of the ladder stands have a Hunter Safety Harness reflective lifeline attached to tree the stand is placed on. The reflective lifeline really helps the hunter find the stand in the dark on the guided hunting trip.
Hunter Orange clothing is required on any gun hunt. A head layer of orange & bottom layer of orange must be worn on your Kansas deer-hunting trip.
